A board-certified pediatric physician, Lloyd Takao, MD, provides high-quality, patient-focused care at his Orinda, California, office. A graduate of the Medical College of Ohio, he has practiced pediatric medicine for over 30 years and has extensive experience in treating all types of illness and trauma, but it is the close personal attention he gives to his young patients and his concern for their well-being that set him apart from other pediatricians. Committed to providing patient-based care, Dr. Takao spends as much time with patients as needed during each visit, promotes office visits instead of ER visits, and takes his own calls seven nights a week. Beyond the work he does at his office, Lloyd Takao, MD, also teaches third- and fourth-year medical students from the University of California, San Francisco, and is on the hospital staff at Children’s Hospital Oakland.
In his free time, Lloyd Takao, MD, is an active member of the community and regularly donates to World Vision and Children’s Hospital. Dr. Takao spent several years as the volunteer staff physician for the Ironman World Championship Triathlon in Hawaii, and he was a former member of the Continuing Medical Education Committee for the American Academy of Pediatrics. In addition, he founded the Alameda County Breathe-Easy Day Camp with the American Lung Association and served on the National Task Force on Asthma for two years.
